I just got it paid into my account last time I got a rebate. My wife got a cheque a few years ago when they had taxed her twice for the same year because the company she worked for changed name.
You know when you see a post on Twitter, and you think: "Hang on? That's not right?" but you keep your trap shut because you know you're gonna get a shitstorm hurled at you. I had one of those moments earlier; gone are the days when I wouldn't care and reply. 😞
Are you one of those who refuse to give your email address when the assistant asks: "Would you like an eRecipt?" This morning I needed the receipt for a purchase I made a few days ago, I couldn't find it. Luckily I had given my email address and there was an alternative to the paper one I had lost. Phew!
We went shopping on the weekend and every store we visited wanted my email address for a receipt. I like this idea, because I’ve created a ‘Receipt’ folder and everything goes there. It’s a much easier way to store and find receipts.
However, I’ve now started to receive marketing emails from this places because I’ve now apparently joined their clubs. I think the use of your email address should be clarified when taking it as part of a purchase.
Yep. Ultimately it's about gaining your email address to add you to their mailing list. GDPR was actually a godsend to marketers (such as myself) in that by freely handing over your address, you are accepting the companies right to email you. The thing is, how hard is it to hit the "Delete" button? I will never understand how people can get so pathetically angry over unsolicited emails. It's almost like their pretending annoyance in the hope of some pats on the back from their peers.
Sounds like a lot of work. I have on numerous occasions said: "Na, you're OK." but I think from now on I shall hand my address over. If, as @Alan says, you create a folder and a filter in your email client any marketing material will go in there and housekeeping that should be simple.
Immigration is a thorny issue, as we can see in the UK. Whatever you do is criticised by one group or another, and it is used all by sorts of right wing groups to stir up insecurity and hatred.
It's not just immigration. Lots of the policies we saw people frothing at the mouth over when Trump was in power are not only still in force but in some cases enhanced. I get the feeling it's that old game of 'deniability' "We never did it! It was Trump." or the other favourite "Ah, this is something we inherited from the Trump administration and is very difficult to reverse now." Yeah, right.
So I know some of you dislike 123 Reg, but I have to say their implementation of a fraudulent email reporting service deserves a pat on the back. So I've been hanging around TikTok for the last week or so and I have to say, it's pretty crap which amazes me that it's so popular? It's full of wannabes talking directly to the camera with way too loud shit background music and trying way too hard to get noticed.
In my occupation we have some screws that we order that we need to do some jobs. They are phillips head and bugle shaped. In most catalogues they are called "Phil Bugle" screws. I always thought that Phil Bugle sounded like some sort of frilly shirted pirate for some reason.

England better win on Sunday night because it's starting to get silly in the UK. Some schools have said pupils can come in late on Monday after watching the match. Supermarkets are closing early so staff can watch the match. The wife's work phoned and said she can come in late to watch the match. There's a cry to have a snap Bank Holiday if we win the match.
