Wow! Why are people not up in arms? So Twitch can now tell you what to do if you want an account with them? Isn't that like selling your soul?

Charlie and I saw a cat tormenting a field mouse this morning. We tried saving its life, me making stupid "psssh" noises and Charlie barking. The cat, distracted for a second, saw the mouse limping off, sneered at us and promptly picked its victim up and waltzed off with it. Bye-bye Mickey. :'(

I want to take this opportunity to apologise to the world for pooh-poohing the Astra Zenica (Oxford) vaccine on Sunday to the Mrs little did I know the shitstorm that would unfold by Wednesday.

Seems my original Haiku install was borked. Only takes a few secs to reinstall.

I'm clearly not 100% especially if I think Tea is just flavoured water. 🍵 :-(

The people in the houses that back onto our property have taken to hanging around in their bedroom(s) pretending to be doing things while actually looking at other peoples gardens and houses. One guy is pretty blasé about it and actually hangs out the window!

Firefox possibly falls behind in the browser popularity stakes. https://news.slashdot.org/story/21/04/05/2021232/microsoft-edge-user-numbers-keep-growing-as-firefox-falls although the article points out, there could be (Like mine) multiple browsers on any given system.

Looking through my feeds this morning, it dawned on me that now my website cannon-linux.co.uk is no more none of my spleen venting will appear on Planet OpenSUSE ever again. :'(

I could never understand why #Archlinux removed the original installer? (I have my suspicions, though.) still, nice to see one back again. https://archlinux.org/news/installation-medium-with-installer/

Any SysAdmin worth their salt should have an automated Backup routine in place. Having said that, some folk prefer a manual solution for whatever reason so I kinda like the idea of a "Happy Bachup Day" maybe Twitter et al can post it very Friday? https://www.it-hure.de/2021/04/happy-backup-day/ P.S. This post is not propsing that by the way.

I have just eaten a bowl of muesli; therefore, it's OK to eat Easter egg. The healthy counteracts the naughty, surely?

Of course. In fact, a bowl of muesli should allow you TWO Easter eggs 😉

So I'm convinced the Government is telling the News media (Especially the BBC) stories to promote to get the country moving again. I bet the next big news story will be: "𝗚𝘆𝗺 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗙𝘂𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆!"

Huzzah! The ghost of SCO rises again in the form of Xinuos and threatens legal action against Red Hat/IBM for supposedly nicking UnixWare blueprints, lying, and conspiring. https://www.theregister.com/2021/03/31/ibm_redhat_xinuos/

This is weird? A Global Cloud-Based company insisting staff must come into the office? Is it just me that's noticed the UK press has been promoting news stories of returning to workplaces rather than #wfh?
Gotta protect Pret a Manga and Starbucks with lunchtime sales. :')

Google was always odd in that respect even before the pandemic; they always insisted in office work even when most other tech companies weren't bothered.

No love at Nominet!
Nominet UK is currently delegated by IANA to be the manager of the .uk domain name i.e. .co.uk

So is this a way of forcing crap or poor content on the viewer? I suspect "Clickbait" will increase on Youtube with the removal of the ability to see down or even upvotes in the constant scrabble for followers. https://www.engadget.com/youtube-dislike-experiment-181738178.html

When did the "Circle of Trust" get broken? When did we stop being "The Good guys"? Remember when we all got into FOSS? And it was all about Trust? I see so many FOSS hacking stories these days. :'(

There's one positive thing to come out of COVID. All the delivery drivers are now equal if not better than London Black Cab drivers and their "Knowledge" because of the number of parcels arriving at #castlecannon daily. I suspect drivers only have to see the surname and respond: "I know where that is!"
