So a couple of people have said to me, "They've got plenty of money!" (i.e. pensioners) Even the wife said, "Have you seen all the pensioners in Marks & Spencer?"

My response is the same as Jeremy Clarkson's. "So, in other words, you work hard all your life and put some money aside so that your retirement, where you have no other income other than your pension, is slightly more comfortable and along comes a group of people who notice you have a couple of quid and take it off you to give to some workshy layabout. And they call that socialism."

I'm not angry because I already knew this was the kind of thing Labour does and will always do. The Labour Party may well change its outward appearance, but at its core, the only idea they have is to take from one to give to another. Labour's idea of 'growth' is to increase the size of public employees so that:
A. There are more union members.
B. Employment and wage increases are guaranteed.
