Funny how the news media hasn't reported the significant drop in prices at the petrol stations!?
At one point, I was paying £1.98 for Supreme Diesel. Yesterday I paid £1.67. While that is still high, a drop of over 30p a litre is not to be sniffed at. This is why I wouldn't say I like news outlets; they only want to get you angry all the time.

'The news media' is not one thing theguardian.com/business/2023/…

It is. It is TV, Radio, Papers and Social media. I do not have the time, patience or inclination to list each and every outlet. I'm fairly confident if I was so determined to prove someone wrong I, too could have found a news story in the Islington Gazette stating how fuel prices have come down. The vast majority of us only have time for what Naga Munchetty tells us what we should think and rarely what's actually going on.
