in reply to Andy Wootton • •That free bus pass isn't free, you know. The government reimburses transport companies for free passes. I would put money on transport operators applying peak-fare prices to their reimbursement.

2. Ensure it's safe. Buses are dangerous environments these days.
3. Make sure they're clean and inviting. Maybe local radio playing or something.
4. Make sure they keep good time: TBH, for example, the X51 is a pretty frequent bus.
