I see lots of new users asking about or for features on, for example, Mastodon. I would like to see the Bio when I hover over community profiles in #Friendica #Developers. At the moment, all that displays is the username which isn't much use if I don't know the person.

Oh god, welcome to my world. I've spent over 20 years trying to explain to people that ultimately, "They don't own it", especially when it came to the likes of Ubuntu, etc. Even, for argument's sake, some of the Mastodon instances. They're still someone's server (Unless, like me, you host your own), so they could kick you off at any time.
I always had pretty clear that. Identi.ca, quitter.se and now on sdf.org I'm on someone's computer and have to behave according to their rules and I depend on them.
Ah, but you are intelligent and don't really strike me as a 'herd mentality' type person whereby you're willing to stifle your own thoughts to fit in with the group hugs. I see it so often; people use something for a year or two and then convince themselves and others that purely by usage and contribution, they suddenly firmly believe it's theirs. 🤦♂️
Also some(most) people don't know how the internet works , its magic. I've seen it with my bosses, telling them something could and was going to happen, them ' no it can't' and then happening. Obviously they were right and something strange happened , twice , thrice and then we changed as I said and stopped happening. Internet like god works in mysterious ways.
You know, I literally kinda said that a couple of hours ago. I gave someone a URL to copy-n-paste and send to someone else, and they responded with, "I dunno how to do that?" I was like, "So you're on the web every day posting pictures and crap, and yet you don't know how to copy and paste a URL? Are you winding me up?"
I do have another account @dick_turpin. I'm a bit tamer on Mastodon. This account spews out to Twitter and allows me to be a bit more, umm? Naughty? I own this instance, so the only one that can shut me up is me on here.
Good idea. You might also want to follow @Ken Fallon (PA7KEN, G5KEN) poke him with a stick although he will try to beg you for content for HPR Hacker Public Radio. Ken's a great guy, I've met him a fair few times.
